ACORN LIFE CO. U21 CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL: It was not our day last Saturday in Austin Stack Park where we lost to Ballyduff 1-10 to 0-11. We had a poor first half performance with our only point coming from Padraig Kearney which left us trailing 0-1 to 0-8 at half time. A much tougher second half yielded dividends but a few wides, a saved penalty and then a crucial Ballyduff goal left us in trouble. Points from Cian Hussey, David Griffin, Kevin Orpen and Danny Casey were not enough to get us over the line but it was a great team effort to the very last second. Team: Ryan Delaney, Daniel Finnegan, Kevin Hannafin, Killian Wolff, Fionan Horgan, Kevin Orpen (C) 0-1f, David Fitzgerald, David Griffin 0-2p, Jack Savage, Gearoid SillesKieran Fitzgerald, John HusseyCian Hussey 0-6(0-1p) Daniel Casey 0-1p. Padraig Kearney 0-1p. Subs: Gearoid Sheehan for G. Silles, Micheal Nolan for D. Fitzgerald, Padraig Casey, Brendan O Connor, Billy McCarthy, Paraic Mc Garty, John Courtney, Michael O Leary.
