BREAST CANCER UNIT FUNDRAISER: The recent Ardfert fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Unit at Cork University Hospital & the Oncology Unit at Kerry General Hospital saw more much needed funds gathered last week. Two cheques of E3,922.50 were presented last Monday evening at McElligott's Bar, Ardfert to representatives of the Cancer Units at the hospitals.  A grand total of E7,845 has been collected, all in support of local lady Andrea Hogan.  Once again thanks to each and every one who supported the venture in any way.

Community Games: Hurling: Congratulations to the U11 Ardfert/Kilmoyley hurling team.  They came second in the Community Games Munster final on Saturday 5th July at UL in Limerick.  In their semi-final in the morning the boys played Ahane/Castleconnell, Limerick & they were up at half time & emerged victorious with a final score of 6-1 to 4-1.  In the final they met St. Mary’s of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.  They played an outstanding final but unfortunately were beaten in the end by 5 points.  At the medal presentation a special mention was given to Ronan Walsh for fair play.  All players had great games & played their hearts out.  Ardfert/Kilmoyley bring home silver medals with them after a great tournament!  Well done  to everyone involved.
