ARDFERT LADYBIRDS: Our Ladybird Flying up Ceremony took place at the Retreat Centre on 6th October 2014.  It was a very exciting event.  All our Ladybirds and Brownies attended.  Our flying up Ceremony means that when our Ladybirds come to age they fly up to Brownies.  They achieved 10 badges to date and received two more on the night.  Also our existing Ladybirds received two more badges on that night and have worked very hard since they have joined the unit.  We had 7 Ladybirds who have moved up to Brownies, Milly O Halloran, Lauren O Sullivan, Rachel & Meaghan O Connor, Kate Sweeney, Ellie O Connor & Lilly Nowak. We wish the girls all the best in Brownies.
We have great fun with our Ladybirds and may the fun and hard work continue. We have a new recruitment of Ladybirds joining us in the 3rd November. We would also like to welcome our new Ladybird leaders, Siobhan O Connor, Roseanne Daly and Adelina Baxter.

MOTORSPORT: County Kerry is the place to be for motorsport fans in November as the Irish rally season draws to a close on the roads of The Kingdom.  Two of Ireland’s most-popular rallies will take place just three weeks apart.  First up is the Banna Beach Resort Kerry Winter Rally, an event that is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary and is set to take place on Sunday November 9.  The rally will take place on closed roads in the North Kerry area with centralised servicing at Listowal Racecourse. It is expected to draw a capacity entry of 130 cars.  Three weeks later the Rentokil-Initial Killarney Historic Rally takes place.  This is the only rally in Ireland that caters exclusively for historic-specification rally cars and has grown in stature and international recognition since its inception in 1996.  Further details of each rally are available on and
