Thanks also to Ardfert Community Centre management for the use of the Centre’s facilities for the making of teas/coffee etc. A special mention of thanks to all the locals who came onto the streets to cheer on the athletes & offer encouragement. All the goodwill was greatly appreciated by those taking part. The Marathon and Half Marathon was another major success – with great weather, and a great atmosphere to back up the efforts of all the runners. Congratulations to all of our athletes on taking part & achieving good times especially to Derek Griffin who finished in third place overall in the full marathon. Lots more runners also took part, many for the first time in an event of this size and we congratulate them on their endeavours and hope they continue to take part and enjoy running. St. Brendan’s AC members are always available to help and encourage first time runners etc. & we can be contacted through our Secretary Orla Fitzgerald at 086 8727498 for training advice, times, venues, upcoming races etc. Full results and times for all runners will be published in Kerry’s Eye this Thursday – along with exclusive photos and stories from the big event.
