ST. BRENDAN'S ATHLETIC CLUB: Munster Senior & Masters Track & Field Championships took place on Sunday 11 June 2017 and the venue was Cork IT track.
St.Brendan's AC had 3 Masters athletes competing in different events ranging from 100m sprint to 800m in track events and from jumps to throws.
Ursula Barrett (W40) was in great form to carry on where she left off after her indoor season and her winning form continued with 3 gold medals in 100m, 200m and Long Jump.
Her winning time in 200m was the fastest in all women's category to add this to her long jump result – also the best jump in all Masters categories.
David Kissane (M60) won 2 bronze medals in 400m and 800m on the track and silver medal in Javelin. Great to see that the new skills and some practice worked well.
Back in action after some break was our current Athletic Club President, Patrick O'Riordan (M65) in flying form, winning gold medals in Long Jump and High Jump. Good to see Patrick back competing. St.Brendan's AC finished the day with an impressive tally of 5 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronze. Well done to all athletes for competing in difficult weather conditions.
